Note: Never had any success getting ATF to discuss these cases with
us. There have been quite a few out this way over the last few
years. Don't have a count at hand.

SIERRA VISTA – The Cochise County Sheriff's Office is requesting the
community's assistance in solving a burglary that occurred at a
Sierra Vista business sometime Sunday, between 1 and 8 a.m.
The Mountain Vista Trading Post on North 7th Street in Sierra Vista
was burglarized when someone forcibly entered the building through
the front door of the business.
"The owner has advised us that numerous items were taken and that the
initial assessment is at least 62 different firearms were stolen,
along with ammunition," said Carol Capas, public information officer
for the county sheriff's department.
"We have several leads, which we are actively following.
"Because of the significant number of weapons that are now out in the
community, this burglary is a huge concern for us," Capas said.
"We are making it a priority to follow every lead in order to
apprehend those responsible for this."
While the sheriff's office is continuing to follow leads as they come
in, deputies are asking anyone with information to call 432-9500. All
information received will remain confidential.
