Note: too bad the mayor couldn't get to Cd. Juarez in time to get
weapons and ammo for his police before the federal govt. destroyed
them. Chronic problem for law enforcement in rural Mexico, under
equipped, under supplied, under supported. Almost like the
politicians and bureaucrats want it that way. More corruption?
Looks like BATF delivers on time.

Chihuahua, Chih. - Mayor Marco Quezada sent a warning to the federal
government because more than one year after the weapons paid for the
Municipal Police 'still not over come', he urged the authorities for
who deliver the weapons for which they paid for time which have not
given them the entire agreement.
'We paid for 200 handguns and 500 rifles that we lack, a year ago and
paid to date have not got them ,' said the mayor who in turn threw
the question: 'How long does it take the gangsters to buy their own ? '.
Similarly, Quezada Martinez said that this only talks about that in
Mexico there are good things, and municipal authorities seeking
weapons, pay for them and take months to deliver them, whereas the
drug traffickers have them in no time.
So he sent a message to the Federation, "and seal the borders
definitely to prevent criminal groups from arming themselves faster
than the police themselves', he said the mayor.

Chihuahua, Chih.- El alcalde Marco Quezada envió un llamado de
atención al Gobierno Federal ya que a más de un año de haber pagado
el armamento para la Policía Municipal 'aún no les ha terminado de
llegar', por lo que exhortó a las autoridades correspondientes a que
les entreguen las armas por las que pagaron desde hace tiempo de las
cuales no les han dado la totalidad de lo acordado.
'Nos entregaron 200 armas cortas y nos faltan 500 armas largas; ya
hace un año que las pagamos y hasta la fecha no las tenemos', señaló
el alcalde quien a la vez lanzó la pregunta: '¿Cuánto tardan los
mafiosos para comprar las suyas?'.
En el mismo sentido, Quezada Martínez dijo que esto sólo habla de que
en México no se hacen bien las cosas, ya que las autoridades
Municipales solicitan las armas, paga por ellas y demoran meses para
que se les entreguen; en cambio, los narcotraficantes las tienen en
muy poco tiempo.
Por lo que mandó un mensaje a la Federación, 'y sellemos las
fronteras definitivamente para evitar que los grupos criminales se
armen mas rápido que los mismos policías', puntualizó el edil.
