The Segob and the INM reiterated their commitment to respect and ensure the human rights of all people.

MEXICO CITY

Recently, the Ministry of the Interior (Segob) announced that, as a result of control and verification operations - as well as voluntary petitions -
11,000 Central Americans who were irregularly (Illegally) located in Mexico have returned to their home countries.

Through the National Institute of Migration (INM), indicated that since October 19, a thousand 906 foreigners
who were part of the caravans from Central America, were returned to their countries after voluntarily requesting their assisted return.

These actions are carried out in compliance with the agreements between Mexico, the countries of the so-called Northern Triangle of Central America
(El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala) as well as Nicaragua, "said the agency.

Likewise, the close collaboration with international civil institutions was highlighted, as is the case of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

In addition, in parallel, the INM maintains the implementation of various actions and programs that allow foreigners to regularize their immigration status
in the country and access formal employment opportunities.

The Segob and the INM reiterated their commitment to respect and ensure the human rights of all persons who enter and transit through the national territory,
regardless of their immigration status.
