More than 1,500 Central Americans, members of the first migrant caravan, are in transit through Sonora and are destined for Tijuana, Baja California.

At 1:00 pm, around 30 urban transport trucks passed through the parador known as Los Arrieros, located at kilometer170 of Mexico 15 Federal Highway, between the municipalities of Guaymas-Hermosillo.

José Martínez, driver of one of the units, reported that they left around 8:00 am from the La Jaula toll booth, which is located between the Sinaloa and Sonora border; they are not making more stops than those indicated by a patrol of the Federal Police that escorts them.

"We do not know what the plan is, or where we are going to rest, the police tell us," he said.

One of the units presented a mechanical failure and had to get off the road; four more trucks were inspected by the drivers in that place, at which point the passengers took advantage of the opportunity to buy water at a convenience store.

The migrants assured that on the way they are only eating sandwiches and can not rest, since they are taking them straight to the border, without entering the cities.

Nearly 2,300 Central Americans have passed or are in transit through Sonora; On November 11, about 80 members of the gay caravan crossed; On the afternoon of the 12th, they were around 400; At dawn of the 13th, there were more than 300 and this day goes to Baja California, the fourth group.

They say they fear for the safety of their families, and that they believe that the situation will get out of control due to the large number of migrants who are on the way.

"We do not want to wait for something to happen," said Aron, one of the neighbors.

They demand that the authority reinforce security and take migrants to shelters.
Around 5:30 pm they gathered in front of the Estrella del Mar church to march towards the delegation.
