A Mexican man wanted for murder in Mexico was captured by Immigration
and Customs Enforcement officers in Tucson on Wednesday.
Jose Mario Islas-Andrade, 32, was captured by special agents from
both ICE's Homeland Security Investigations division, who found him
after getting information on his whereabouts.
"The capture and return of this criminal fugitive to Mexico to face
justice is a direct result of our close collaboration with our law
enforcement counterparts in Mexico," said Matt Allen, special agent
in charge of HSI Arizona in a press release. "Our special agents will
continue to investigate and pursue those violent criminals who seek
to use the United States as safe haven in order to evade justice in
their native countries."
Islas-Andrade was wanted in connection with the alleged kidnapping of
Pedro Paez-Perez in Nogales in 2008 and the alleged premeditated
murder attempt of Sonora State Police Officer Raul Rubio-Flores in
2012. Islas-Andrade allegedly shot Rubio-Flores multiple times at
close range, but the officer survived.
Islas-Andrade was turned over to Mexican authorities at the Dennis de
Concini port of entry on Thursday.

Police are looking for two men on the loose who jumped out of an SUV
that was suspected to be heading to a drop house.
One of the men is suspected of being a human smuggler.
Police pulled over a Ford Expedition that was speeding near the I-10
and Chandler Boulevard Friday. Four people were inside who are
believed to be undocumented. Two were arrested while the other two
fled on foot, according to Bart Graves with DPS.
"One of the two we have in custody has injuries sustained as a result
of aggravated assault committed on him by the suspected human
smuggler that was driving the vehicle," Graves said.
Graves said that several firearms were inside the vehicle.
The search is still on-going for the two men that haven't been located.

Juárez police and Mexican federal agents seized high-powered rifles,
ammo and drugs during a raid of a safe house, officials said.
Police officials said that the seizure was made Tuesday evening after
a resident reported suspicious activity at a home in the upper-middle-
class Pradera Dorada neighborhood. No one was arrested.
Police seized 13 firearms -- a .50-caliber rifle, six assault rifles,
a submachine gun and five handguns. They also seized ammunition,
military-style tactical clothing, drug-packaging materials and more
than 4 pounds of cocaine, 8 pounds of marijuana and a quarter-ounce
of methamphetamine.\
The case was separate from Tuesday's seizure of 268,000 rounds of
ammo found in a tractor-trailer entering Juárez at the Bridge of the
Americas.
This year, Juárez police, according to officials, have seized 168
firearms (including 120 handguns) as well as a grenade launcher and
five grenades.
