With the presidential band on his chest, Andrés Manuel López Obrador continued being López Obrador.
In his first message to the Nation as President of the Republic, from the Chamber of Deputies, López Obrador harangued, denounced, confronted his opponents, attacked the neoliberal economic model and repeated most of the promises he made in the campaign.
Those who expected a moderate López Obrador as President stayed behind. When the PAN party raised cardboard demanding that the gasoline go down, the President answered them straight and clear: "Now it turns out that those who increased the price of gasoline, are asking for it to go down".
The same happened when PAN members, PRD members and three independent legislators from the AHORA group demanded Peña Nieto's trial and that there be no forgiveness or forgetfulness.
With Enrique Peña Nieto at his side, López Obrador assured that there will be no persecution or circus or simulation. When the benches sitting on their right made a roll call by the normalistas of Ayotzinapa, counting from 1 to 43, López Obrador cooled them by announcing the commission that will investigate the case from the first day of his government.
The new President gave no respite to his opponents, the same ones he fought in the last 18 years.
He called them conservatives and hypocrites, and accused the neoliberal model of all of Mexico's ills: poverty, corruption, violence and insecurity.
When the PAN members raised their signs demanding that the VAT be lowered, López Obrador reminded them that in the six years of Vicente Fox and Felipe Calderón Mexico received extraordinary resources from the oil production and these went "down the drain of corruption."
Faced with the cries of the right, those of Morena, the majority bench, applauded, drew white handkerchiefs and placed a blanket at the foot of the rostrum: "Andrés Manuel López Obrador, President of the Fourth Transformation."
In the midst of that exchange of protests and batons, the outgoing President only watched. Enrique Peña Nieto had to listen to the speech of AMLO to two seats of him. Porfirio Muñoz Ledo, President of the Chamber, and three meters away, separated Peña Nieto from López Obrador, who attacked without mercy against his (EPN) Government.
Already without the presidential band, the PRI listened to how AMLO recited figures and arguments about the disaster they gave him: crisis in security and violence, rampant corruption, an energy reform that failed, an educational reform that will be thrown back in the next months, looting and abuse, millions of ninis.

"The shameful situation in which we find ourselves," he summarized. Peña only moved his head, put his hand to his forehead, dried his sweat, looked ahead and gave a few applauses, very few, to some phrases he heard, as when López Obrador enunciated in a sentence his mission of the next years: "end corruption and impunity."
While the Opposition shouted to the tabasqueño to "forgive" Peña, the former president became a statue, and Lopez Obrador offered that from the Presidency will not start any process against his predecessors.
But, when Peña seemed to breathe with relief, the President clarified that, ultimately, it will be the people who decide, because also that, the investigation of the former Presidents will be consulted with the people.
The outgoing President also had to listen to López Obrador announce that on Monday will be sold the presidential airplane TP-01, bought by Calderón, but only used by Peña Nieto.
The PRI member applauded when the President made a long defense of the Mexican Army, but remained static when he announced to the deputies and senators that, from that moment, the official residence of Los Pinos was already open to the public.
The first presidential message lasted more than an hour, and he took the opportunity to explain his security plan, and argue that the National Guard, under military command, is a necessary measure. ( The next Red Guards as with Mao in China?)
In his defense of the Armed Forces, López Obrador assured that they are a revolutionary army, emanating from the people, and that they have never been tempted by the military coup.
In the seats, panistas, perredistas, legislators of MC and of NOW were agitated; they raised their voices, got up and sat down again. Andrés Manuel López Obrador turned them over to see them, he let them scream, he listened to them and he answered them.
More than an hour after starting his first speech in "the maximum rostrum of the Nation", he promised that he will not be re-elected, in any way. He also announced that in the third year he will undergo a referendum on revocation of mandate, before which the PAN returned to the protest, this time with signs that read: "Yes democracy, no authoritarianism."
Accustomed to the storm, López Obrador continued reading his long speech, without lowering his tone or losing the thread. The speech he dreamed of reading for at least 12 years, in his first presidential campaign, lasted one hour with 18 minutes.
Almost at the end, he greeted the leaders and representatives of neighboring countries and friends who came to witness the inauguration. Among others, he mentioned Lenin Moreno, Evo Morales, King Felipe of Spain, Michael Pence, Ivanka Trump and Nicolás Maduro.
When he mentioned the Venezuelan, the shouts resumed in the PAN, which since the beginning of the session had already hung a blue blanket with the portrait of Hugo Chávez's successor and the slogan "Maduro is not welcome."
While López Obrador took a breath, as if he were letting the PANistas make their announced protest, the anti Maduro's blanket was placed in front of the enclosure, under the rostrum.
But, again, the episode lasted barely a minute, as the President continued reading and improvising. At the end of the speech, he said that in the morning, on his way home from Congress, a young man on a bicycle reached him, approached his car and said: "you have no right to fail us."
With that phrase, the President marked the end of his speech and the beginning of his six-year term, that of the Fourth Transformation. Twelve years after trying it for the first time, Andrés Manuel López Obrador said, from the top floor of the Nation, what that young man asked him about an avenue in Mexico City: "I have no right to fail".

where they spent the night and then continue their way to different states of the American Union.
The journalist Oscar Gómez, reported in collaboration that the group is mostly made up of women, men and children,
who waited for their turn to enter the country in Nogales, Sonora, and four days ago they managed to be assisted.
He added that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported that he released one hundred migrants at a station in southern Arizona this week,
because they no longer had space for them.
He said that there is also a lack of spaces in churches, since many do not house women or men.
In the church in Mesa, ICE officials were present to confirm the attention to the 60 families
and as it would be a repetitive dynamic in the near future,

SAN DIEGO -- Three people were killed and eight people were injured in a rollover crash on Interstate 8 in rural East County Thursday.
Around 4:30 p.m., U.S. Border Patrol agents tried to conduct an enforcement stop on a driver of a white Chevrolet Silverado near the U.S.-Mexico border,
according to California Highway Patrol. The driver did not yield and led agents on a high-speed chase on westbound I-8.
After running over a spike strip east of Crestwood Road in Boulevard, the driver lost control of the pickup, which rolled down an embankment and crashed on its side.
A witness told authorities the vehicle was driving as fast as 100 mph before flipping over in the crash, a CHP incident log showed.
All 11 adults inside the pickup were ejected, according to CHP.
Three people were pronounced dead at the scene and the other eight were taken to hospitals throughout San Diego.
Victims were being rushed to the hospital by ambulances because weather conditions prevented paramedics from using helicopters,
according to a tweet by Cal Fire San Diego.
Three of the patients' injuries were considered major.
The driver was taken into custody with Border Patrol and was being treated for his injuries at a hospital, CHP said.
Alcohol or drugs were not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
Both lanes of westbound I-8 were blocked in the area for several hours.

PHOENIX — More than 4,000 Central American migrants seeking asylum have been released by Immigration and Customs Enforcement to a network
of at least 11 churches across the Valley since mid-October.
The churches are located in Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert and Phoenix.
Magdalena Schwartz, a pastor in Mesa who has been coordinating the drop-offs, said she was first contacted by ICE on Oct. 12
about finding a church that could house 11 migrants.
A day after the first group arrived, she agreed to help with another 40 migrants.

"From that day, we have been receiving groups of one hundred and one hundred fifty people," she said.
"In total, we already helped more than 4,000 people."
Schwartz said ICE takes the asylum seekers – which mainly include parents with children – to the churches in buses,
and they typically stay there for several days.
They are released with ankle monitoring bracelets and paperwork letting them know the next steps they need to take in the asylum process.
"We feed them. We cloth them, and we start calling their relatives so they can buy them plane or bus tickets,"
Schwartz said, adding that none of the migrants were part of the caravan of Central Americans that have been arriving at the U.S. border with Mexico.
An ICE representative told KTAR News 92.3 FM at least four dozen migrants were dropped off at a Phoenix Greyhound bus station this week
after nonprofit groups were not able to receive them in a timely manner.
The agency did not say how many migrants have been released to Valley churches
but did say ICE will continue working with non-governmental organizations that can take in migrants.
Schwartz said parents have told her they are fleeing Central America to try to keep their children
from being recruited or kidnapped by gang members.
She said they will keep taking in migrants but added it's becoming "overwhelming and we need more help."
She said their efforts have been funded by donations, and they have not received any government assistance.
"We need more generous people to help us," she said. "They can donate money, they can donate food.
They can donate a lot of things, like backpacks."
The churches helping migrants include Nueva Esperanza in Mesa and Monte Vista Baptist Church in Phoenix.

Border Patrol Agents Assaulted by Illegal Aliens

TUCSON, Ariz. – Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents were assaulted during two separate incidents west of Tucson Tuesday.
The first assault occurred when agents disrupted a human smuggling attempt south of Three Points.
While attempting to arrest four male suspects, one of the men became combative.
The 25 year-old Guatemalan national resisted arrest by throwing dirt at an agent's face, and by swinging his belt and affixed buckle,
attempting to strike the agent.
After a struggle, the man was handcuffed by assisting agents and placed in a service vehicle,
where he again assaulted another agent by spitting in his face.
Two illegal aliens from Mexico and Guatemala, along with an Arizona man,
previously arrested by Border Patrol for smuggling, were arrested during this incident.
Later that evening, west of Three Points, another Border Patrol Agent was assaulted as he attempted to arrest an illegal alien.
The agent, accompanied by a canine partner, tracked the man to a desolate desert area,
where a 36-year-old Guatemalan national became combative, striking the agent several times.
The agent eventually made the arrest by subduing and handcuffing the man.
Both combative men will face criminal charges for assaulting a federal agent.
The illegal alien responsible for the second assault, was previously removed from the country in May for immigration violations.
One agent was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, and was released.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection welcomes assistance from the community.

Two unmarked buses pulled up to New Hope Church near Southern Avenue and Mesa Driver in Mesa on Tuesday night to drop off about 100 individuals.
Pastor Magdalena Schwartz said they were families, adults with children. She said most of them were from Central America and seeking asylum.
Schwartz is part of a network of faith groups that say they are taking in 100 to 150 migrants daily.
Asylum cases can drag on because of the federal government's lack of resources.

"Because the children, they are innocent, they're hungry, they're cold, they're scared," said Schwartz.
"We still can be lovely people. We still can have mercy. We still can open our arms and say to anybody, 'You are welcome.'"

Because of a backlog in asylum applications, immigration attorney Ruben Reyes says the families will likely wait years before a judge determines whether to grant them asylum.
Reyes is the elected director for the board of American Immigration Lawyers Association.
He says asylum cases can drag on because of the federal government's lack of resources.

"There are limited immigration judges. There is limited time," says Reyes.
"If you can't run through all your evidence in two hours, you're going to have to continue the matter."

Reyes says migrants can offer a number of justifications for asylum.
"Economic refugees generally do not qualify," says Reyes. "However, if you delve a little deeper into why they're here, the persecution by gangs, the lawlessness,
the country's inability to police its own borders and within its own borders,
can actually rise to the level of asylum."

Reyes says even domestic violence can constitute asylum if someone's home country does not have protections for women.
There have been failed attempts, Reyes says, to restrict what situations warrant asylum.

A group of 30 Central and South American migrants belonging to the LGTB community who arrived the week before in Nogales,
departed for the Agua Prieta, Sonora border since last weekend.
The coordinator of the Municipal Civil Protection Unit, César Gómez Madrid, said that only 17 applicants to apply for political asylum in the United States
stayed in the shelter of the Integral Family Development System (DIF).
He confirmed that between Friday and Saturday there were 30 of them in "combis" who rented with their own resources
and indicated that until this Tuesday morning, there were 17 people left although he did not know if they would stay longer on this border.
The municipal official added that the reason they decided to migrate
was because they did not want to wait so long to present their request for humanitarian asylum in the United States,
because here they have to wait for the turn in the list and thought they would arrive and cross as with nothing.
"We do not know that the 17 who stayed here are waiting for more migrants to arrive, if that is why they stayed," added Gómez Madrid.

Because of a backlog in asylum applications, immigration attorney Ruben Reyes says the families will likely wait years before a judge determines whether to grant them asylum.
Reyes is the elected director for the board of American Immigration Lawyers Association.
He says asylum cases can drag on because of the federal government's lack of resources.

"There are limited immigration judges. There is limited time," says Reyes.
"If you can't run through all your evidence in two hours, you're going to have to continue the matter."

Pastor Magdalena Schwartz said they were families, adults with children.

Reyes says migrants can offer a number of justifications for asylum.
"Economic refugees generally do not qualify," says Reyes. "However, if you delve a little deeper into why they're here, the persecution by gangs, the lawlessness,
the country's inability to police its own borders and within its own borders,
can actually rise to the level of asylum."

Reyes says even domestic violence can constitute asylum if someone's home country does not have protections for women.
There have been failed attempts, Reyes says, to restrict what situations warrant asylum.
Two unmarked buses pulled up to New Hope Church near Southern Avenue and Mesa Drive in Mesa
on Tuesday night to drop off about 100 individuals.
Asylum is supposed to begin at a port of entry.
While there is a process for applying for asylum from someone's home country, Reyes says, for some, it's not safe.

"Not everybody has the benefit or the freedom to do so in the sense that they are in immediate danger," says Reyes.

A group of 30 Central and South American migrants belonging to the LGTB community who arrived the week before in Nogales,
departed for the Agua Prieta, Sonora border since last weekend.
The coordinator of the Municipal Civil Protection Unit, César Gómez Madrid, said that only 17 applicants to apply for political asylum in the United States
stayed in the shelter of the Integral Family Development System (DIF).
He confirmed that between Friday and Saturday there were 30 of them in "combis" who rented with their own resources
and indicated that until this Tuesday morning, there were 17 people left although he did not know if they would stay longer on this border.
The municipal official added that the reason they decided to migrate
was because they did not want to wait so long to present their request for humanitarian asylum in the United States,
because here they have to wait for the turn in the list and thought they would arrive and cross as with nothing.
"We do not know that the 17 who stayed here are waiting for more migrants to arrive, if that is why they stayed," added Gómez Madrid.

explained that also were destroyed, from June to October, more than 111 tons of apocryphal material,
one thousand 100 slot machines, 1,700 land, air and sea vehicles, and more than eight million liters of hydrocarbon and 215 thousand liters of LP gas.
"The objectives set by Alberto Elías Beltrán, Deputy Attorney General and International Affairs were met: to reduce health and safety risks;
prevent criminal groups from recovering seized material; make more efficient use of infrastructure, free spaces in warehouses; and optimize economic and human resources ".
During the destruction of 12 tons of narcotics and 59 slot machines, in Tijuana, Porcayo Dominguez said that a transfer of two and a half tons of other goods

PHOENIX — If President Donald Trump permanently closes the U.S.-Mexico border like he has threatened, it would do major damage to Arizona's economy, according to a trade official.
"Trade with Mexico has an enormous effect on Arizona's economy," Glenn Hamer, president with the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
"It would be catastrophic to the Arizona economy if the border was shut down."
Trump, in a tweet on Monday, threatened to "close the Border permanently" if Mexico does not send a caravan of Central American migrants "back to their countries."
But Hamer said he does not believe that will happen, pointing to Arizona's $15.5 billion trading relationship with Mexico each year.
"Mexico far and away is Arizona's largest trading partner," he added. "We export more goods to Mexico than the next four countries combined."
Thousands of migrants arrived to Tijuana in recent days in an attempt to apply for asylum in the United States. But a chaotic clash at the border that involved choking tear gas fired by U.S. agents left them sullen and dejected, and pushed them to urgently explore other options.
The waiting list for asylum applications already had some 3,000 people on it before the caravan arrived in Tijuana. With U.S. officials processing fewer than 100 claims a day, the wait time for the recent arrivals stands to take months.
Despite the border security challenges posed by the migrant caravan, Hamer said the U.S. and Mexican governments are "aligned in wanting to address the migrant problem.
"We need a secure border and a lawful process by which immigrants and refugees can come to the country," he added.
"I expect the incoming (Mexican President-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador's) administration and the Trump administration to work closely and constructively together to work on the migrant issue while we keep trade humming."

Since the Migrant Caravan arrived in Baja California, they have arranged more than 200 migrants before the authorities to carry out their deportation,
revealed the local delegate of the National Institute of Migration (Inami), Luis Humberto Torres.
"Since the caravan arrived there are already more than 200 people that we have made available, right now we have 17 in the Mexicali migratory station,
in order to offer assisted return," said the local delegate.
Luis Humberto Torres said that of the 40 people who were detained by the Municipal Police, 24 are irregular foreigners
and on instructions from the Interior Minister, Inami will proceed with his deportation.
ASSISTED RETURN
"We are going to start offering the assisted return to all this caravan population in the shelters, we are going to implement operations by the Beta group,"
said the federal official.
He noted that they increased the flow of buses to take them to the migration station in Mexico City sooner
and then start the process that will take them to their country of origin.
Some migrants have volunteered to be deported. Only yesterday four migrants came to get their trip back to their country,
one from Guatemala and three from Honduras.
REINFORCES BORDER
The Government reinforced the Mexicali-Calexico border with a greater number of agents to avoid a repeat of a confrontation like that of Tijuana,
in which there was a massive attempt to cross into the United States for part of the Migrant Caravan.
"We have a deployment of 44 agents who came from different delegations to avoid this type of illegal situations,
the event that happened in Tijuana was unfortunate and ended in 40 detainees," he said.
THE LAW SAYS IT
• Assisted return: This is the procedure by which the National Migration Institute makes a foreigner leave the national territory,
sending it back to their country of origin or habitual residence.
• Deportation: It is the measure issued by the National Institute of Migration through which the departure of a foreigner from the national territory is ordered
and the period during which he can not re-enter it is determined, when he incurs in the cases provided for in article 144 of this Law.

Migrants arrive in Agua Prieta
A group of migrants from Central America arrived in Agua Prieta, Sonora last week, according to a local shelter volunteer.
Centro de Atencion al Migrante Exodus volunteer Perla Deangel says the 28 migrants arrived on Friday and Saturday on a commercial bus.
She says they are 20 to 35-year-old transgender women seeking asylum from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.
Four people have been granted asylum so far from the Douglas, Ariz. Port of Entry.
Deangel says it's dangerous for the migrants in their home countries and to stay in Mexico so they intend to gain entry to the United States.

Deangel says clothing and other necessities have been donated to the shelter,
but not everyone in Agua Preita are in favor of the migrants being sheltered there.

There is a lot of uncertainty about the future of the remaining migrants in Agua Pieta, according to Deangel.
She says she's not sure if they will all be able to pass into the U.S. or if more will be coming.

Luis Humberto Torres said that of the 40 people who were detained by the Municipal Police, 24 are irregular foreigners

ASSISTED RETURN
"We are going to start offering the assisted return to all this caravan population in the shelters, we are going to implement operations by the Beta group,"
said the federal official.
He noted that they increased the flow of buses to take them to the migration station in Mexico City sooner
and then start the process that will take them to their country of origin.
Some migrants have volunteered to be deported. Only yesterday four migrants came to get their trip back to their country,
one from Guatemala and three from Honduras.
REINFORCES BORDER
The Government reinforced the Mexicali-Calexico border with a greater number of agents to avoid a repeat of a confrontation like that of Tijuana,
in which there was a massive attempt to cross into the United States for part of the Migrant Caravan.
"We have a deployment of 44 agents who came from different delegations to avoid this type of illegal situations,
the event that happened in Tijuana was unfortunate and ended in 40 detainees," he said.

Migrants arrive in Agua Prieta
A group of migrants from Central America arrived in Agua Prieta, Sonora last week, according to a local shelter volunteer.
Centro de Atencion al Migrante Exodus volunteer Perla Deangel says the 28 migrants arrived on Friday and Saturday on a commercial bus.
She says they are 20 to 35-year-old transgender women seeking asylum from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.
Four people have been granted asylum so far from the Douglas, Ariz. Port of Entry.
Deangel says it's dangerous for the migrants in their home countries and to stay in Mexico so they intend to gain entry to the United States.

Deangel says clothing and other necessities have been donated to the shelter,
but not everyone in Agua Preita are in favor of the migrants being sheltered there.

There is a lot of uncertainty about the future of the remaining migrants in Agua Pieta, according to Deangel.
She says she's not sure if they will all be able to pass into the U.S. or if more will be coming.

Lurbin Sarmiento, 26, from Copán, Honduras, walked to the sports complex with her 4-year-old daughter, both disturbed, for what had just happened between the Tijuana River and the border with the United States.
She was at the bottom of the river - a concrete drain with barely a trickle of water - near the border with her daughter at the moment when US agents fired tear gas.
"We ran but the gas always reached us and my girl was drowning," Sarmiento said. He pointed out that he would never have come so close to his daughter if he had known that there would be gas.
The gas reached hundreds of migrants protesting near the border, when some of them tried to cross the fence and the wire that divides both nations. The US authorities closed for several hours the border crossing of San Ysidro, the busiest in the country.

were transferred to the city of Hermosillo by federal authorities where they will continue with their legal process.

According to the statistical exercise, the five regions of the Country, beginning with the Center,
declared themselves in favor of the use of the armed forces in tasks of public security.
In the Central zone, integrated by the State of Mexico, Morelos, Puebla, Tlaxcala and Mexico City,
73.2% of the thousand people surveyed nationally at home, expressed their acceptance.
In second place is the Northeast zone, composed of Tamaulipas, Nuevo León and Veracruz, where 70.3% mentioned that it is correct.
It is followed by the Western region with an Army and Navy acceptance of 69.8%; Southeast, 69.3%; and Northwest, 68.3%.
The director of MUCD, Lisa Sanchez, said that they are not opposed to the existence of the military,
but to the overuse of the armed forces,

The migrants are being housed in shelters and homes in Agua Prieta, said Douglas Mayor Robert Uribe.
While early reports said that about 700 migrants had arrived in the city, Uribe said on Tuesday that the number was likely closer to 100 or less.
"The number is still unknown; however, nowhere near 700," said Uribe.
"Some are saying that they came from Hermosillo, but I haven't been able to confirm that."
The caravan first formed in Honduras in October, a country annually ranked among those with the highest murder rates in the world.
The caravan, which includes thousands of men, women and children, broke into multiple groups during the 2,000-plus mile journey toward the U.S.,
with many planning to seek asylum once they reached the border.
Uribe said he wasn't aware whether any asylum requests were being processed in Douglas.
Members of the caravan began arriving at the California border the previous week,
where they were met by angry protests from hundreds of Tijuana, Mexico, residents, reported the Associated Press.
Similar incidents are unlikely to occur in Cochise County border communities, said Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels.
"Our role at the local level, our plan, is to protect communities, and to support our federal partners if called upon," he said.
Dannels said he was in regular communication with officials throughout southern Arizona regarding the migrant caravans.
"We encourage that legal process; we do not want disorder on the border. If they're breaking laws or rules, that's when we'll act."
Uribe also did not anticipate any "disruptions" at the Douglas Port of Entry, he said.
"I think that for the most part, the Mexican and the U.S. authorities have been working together to make sure that there isn't any interruption," he said.
"We're very vigilant right now. We're proud of the work that each agency is doing to secure, protect, and defend our border."
The arrival of the migrants is also unlikely to cause any delays or closures at the Douglas port, said acting port Director Michael Osterman.
While the agency must "carefully manage resources and space" if faced with high volumes of people to process, he said, closing ports would only occur "if needed."
"Right now, it's business as usual," he said.
U.S. Army troops, deployed in response to the migrant caravans under a mission formerly known as "Operation Faithful Patriot"
in order to provide Customer and Border Protection with logistical and engineering assistance, are also still stationed in Douglas
and along other parts of the Arizona border, where their work has included installing razor wire on the border wall.
While the troops were originally scheduled to go home in mid-December, a Nov. 19 news release from U.S. Army North
said some forces could be shifted to other areas of the border, including California, and that "no specific timeline for redeployment has been determined."

A new group of about 300 migrants entered Mexico this morning along the Suchiate River, which, like the other migrants who have traveled the country, seek to reach the United States.
According to Reforma, the Central Americans entered illegally into Mexican territory, as did the previous caravans, through the area known as La Canastilla.
This group intends to travel the same route as the other caravans that have entered Mexico since last month.
According to the newspaper, the Central Americans spent two days in the community of Tecún Umán, Guatemala, hoping that the group would be strengthened.

The National Institute of Migration (INM) will grant a work visa to the people of the Central American migrant caravan,
so that the hostels do not depend on aid to survive.
Mario Madrazo, general director of Control and Verification of the INM, reported that so far 83 people of the exodus have asked for their work visas
to attend the fair of employment that is carried out in the Salesian Project,
which has as an aim that the applicants get a salary so they can pay for their food and a place to live.
For this, he explained that they will be in contact with the consulates of Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador to ensure the identity and origin of their citizens;
This process will take 72 hours.
He stated that this strategy was implemented because some Central Americans have decided to settle in Tijuana
and others will wait indefinitely for their humanitarian asylum procedure to enter the United States.
The INM official pointed out that 6,200 people from the Central American migrant caravan have arrived in Baja California, most of them from Honduras;
Of that number, half are in the city and the other half in Mexicali.
On the issue of economic resources to address the situation of the current Central American migrant caravan
that the Institute said that the budget could not be exercised, because it is labeled for other purposes that have nothing to do with the migrant issue.
The INM official said that they have detected migrants from the caravan who wish to return their country to the migratory landscape of Mexico and North America.
