Organizations of Mexican migrants repatriated from the United States expressed their support for the presidential candidate of the "Together we will make history" coalition, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, considering that he is the only candidate who has spoken about the right of Mexicans to have decent jobs in their country , and therefore not to be forced to migrate.

At a press conference, Nativo López Vigil, political and legal advisor of the Hermandad Mexicana migrant association, said that currently undocumented international workers - especially of Latin American origin - are living in a worrisome situation of xenophobia and racism in the United States.

One of its most negative consequences, he warned, is the detention of thousands of Mexican and Central American migrants, the internment of them and their families -including children and babies- in detention centers with inhuman conditions, and finally their massive deportation to Mexico, a country where many of them no longer have any ties and to which they did not wish to return.

In this context, López Obrador has been the only candidate for the Presidency that has spoken of generating the necessary conditions within the country to give development opportunities to people, so that they do not have to be forced to leave their place of origin.

After expressing his hope that an eventual government of the leader of Morena will bring greater support to returning migrants and the population in general, López Vigil supported the idea of López Obrador that the consulates of Mexico in the United States have a role to play. active defense of undocumented workers.

If the tabasqueño gave decent conditions to the population, he estimated, many people would not have to migrate to the United States and even thousands of them could return to the country to reactivate their economic activity and apply everything they learned in the American Union.

For its part, Israel Concha, president of the association of return migrants New Beginnings, (New Comienzos) said that Lopez Obrador has before it the opportunity to solve the "humanitarian crisis" generated by the detention and deportation of thousands of Mexicans who arrive in a country that they do not know, where some no longer have relatives or friends and in which they are victims of discrimination.

Far from being a problem, said the activist, the expelled migrants can be "the cherry on the cake for Mexico, because their education did not cost them a penny" and they can contribute all they have learned to rebuild the country.
