The bilateral relationship between Mexico and the United States is closer and more fluid with the administration of Donald Trump than with that of Barack Obama, said Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray.
At a press conference along with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland, he said that Mexico is committed to having close communication with the Trump administration.
That has proven to be an impressive benefit for our relationship, I believe that today it is more fluid, closer than with the previous administration; some people do not believe it, but it's a fact, "Videgaray said.
He clarified that Mexico and the US have differences, as with any other country, but both nations have been working closely on many issues to strengthen the bilateral relationship.
In answering questions about the meeting he held with his counterparts in the United States and Canada, he said that one of the great agreements is the fight against transnational criminal organizations.
One of the issues for the dismantling of the business model has to do with the illegal trafficking of weapons, weapons that come illegally from the US to Mexico and is one of the elements that must be dismantled. "
(Remember the Obama regime F&F? Weapons sent to Mex. drug cartels. Mexican Lives didn't Matter)
Regarding the US proposal to raise armed agents to cross-border flights, Videgaray said that the Mexican government is analyzing its legal and operational viability, but there is no agreement.
He said they did not talk about the dreamers or the wall, which "is not an issue on the bilateral agenda."
On Venezuela, he confirmed that our country will continue collaborating through all diplomatic channels to restore constitutional order in that nation.
