TUCSON, AZ (AP) -
Border Patrol agents say a 14-year-old Nogales boy was at the wheel of a van concealing a dozen Mexican citizens that crashed during a pursuit.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials released details Wednesday of the Jan. 21 incident, which occurred east of Nogales.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents tried to stop the Dodge Caravan but the driver sped away.
Agents followed the vehicle until the juvenile driver lost control of the van.
Authorities say the teen tried to flee on foot but was promptly arrested.

They discovered 12 Mexican nationals, ranging from age 15 to 45, inside the car. They were arrested on immigration violations.

The teen was booked on a felony charge of unlawful flight from a law enforcement vehicle and will be prosecuted in Santa Cruz County.

YUMA, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities arrested a Mexican national in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) program after he was caught allegedly attempting to smuggle four other Mexican nationals into the country in a truck.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says Border Patrol agents stationed Monday at the Yuma Sector arrested a 26-year-old Mexican immigrant.

Agents spotted footprints of four people near the Colorado River in a rural area south of Yuma.
Other agents followed the group to the truck and arrested them as they drove.
The vehicle was seized for forfeiture.

President Donald Trump announced last year the DACA program would end in March, calling on Congress to find a permanent solution for the immigrants.
