Note: we are still working with sources to clear some of the
conflicting info coming out.
Early info would indicate that it was around the Paul Spur area,
about a mile or so north of the border.
Approximately half way between Douglas and Naco.
Info coming in also indicates that it was a ambush.
Border Patrol agent shot and killed

A Border Patrol agent was shot and killed and another sustained non-
life threatening wounds early Tuesday morning.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. three Naco Border Patrol agents responded
to a censor hit on Highway 80, 15 miles west of Douglas.
Upon arrival shots were fired at the agents by unknown suspect(s).
Cochise County deputies responded to the call finding the deceased
agent and the injured one, who was airlifted to University of Arizona
Medical Center in Tucson. A third agent was unharmed.
The names of the agent involved in the shooting are being withheld
pending notification of next of kin.
The incident investigation is being led by the Cochise County
Sheriff's Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
No additional information was available at press time.
