House of Deputies requests information about Fast and Furious
Deputies called to the Foreign Ministry and the Attorney General to
issue "shortly" all about the operation, including American sources.

MEXICO CITY, October 04. - The Mexican House of Representatives urged
the Foreign Ministry and the Attorney General to issue "shortly" all
available information about the operation "fast and furious",
including what the U.S. authorities have referred to the Mexican
authorities.

It also asked the federal executive branch demarcate responsibilities
to line ministries allegedly involved, and based on that compensation
to all persons who have been affected by the implementation of the
operation

The point of agreement endorsed in full, was presented by the deputy
of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) Aleida Alavez Ruiz,
who recalled that the operation "fast and furious" intentionally
consisted of thousands of weapons sent into Mexico, by U.S.
authorities to track criminal groups.

He also mentioned that infiltrated weapons during that operation led
by a Bureau of Alcohol, Snuff, Firearms and Explosives (ATF for its
acronym in English) have been linked to violent events on both sides
of the border, as the killing of the young in Salvacar Villa in
Ciudad Juarez.

Alavez Ruiz added that while the U.S. Congress was about disabled by
that case, the head of the Department of Defense (DOJ lost in
translation) , Eric Holder, has unknown information regarding the
investigation.

So the vice president of the Chamber of Deputies asked the Attorney
General's Office (PGR) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) to make
public the information they have about the case.

Meanwhile PT deputy, Manuel Rafael Huerta Ladron de Guevara added to
point a clause according to which the holder of executive power under
the law to provide "for the benefit of those victims and their
families all measures within its power compensate for damage and
disruption they have suffered in his person, property or possessions. "

Meanwhile the deputy of the National Action Party (PAN), Adriana
González Carrillo defended the role of the Mexican authorities in the
case and said that investigations are moving forward with
transparency and according to the National Security Act in the country.

"We will not let it be said that there is no opacity or covering up
or there is a complicit silence and reject it for lack of knowledge
is accused the government of Mexico of omission," added Gonzalez
Carrillo.

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, 04 de octubre.- La Cámara de Diputados exhortó a la
cancillería y a la PGR a publicar "a la brevedad" toda la información
disponible sobre el operativo "rápido y furioso", incluyendo la que
las instancias estadunidenses hayan remitido a las autoridades
mexicanas.

Asimismo pidieron al Poder Ejecutivo federal deslindar de
responsabilidades a las secretarías de Estado presuntamente
involucradas, y en base a ello indemnizar a todas las personas que
hayan resultado afectadas por la implementación de dicho operativo

El punto de acuerdo avalado en el pleno, fue presentado por la
diputada del Partido de la Revolución Democrática (PRD) Aleida Alavez
Ruiz, quien recordó que el operativo "rápido y furioso" consistió en
el ingreso intencional de miles de armas a territorio mexicano, por
parte de las autoridades norteamericanas para rastrear a grupos
criminales.

Asimismo mencionó que las armas infiltradas durante aquel operativo
dirigido por la a Agencia de Alcohol, Tabaco, Armas de Fuego y
Explosivos (ATF por sus siglas en inglés) han estado vinculadas con
hechos violentos en ambos lados de la frontera, como la matanza de
jóvenes de Villa Salvacar en Ciudad Juárez.

Álavez Ruiz Agregó que mientras en el Congreso de los Estados Unidos
estuvo a punto de inhabilitar por dicho caso, al titular del
Departamento de Defensa, Eric Holder, en nuestro México se desconoce
la información relacionada con la investigación.

Por ello la vicepresidenta de la Cámara de Diputados pidió a la
Procuraduría General de la República (PGR) y a Secretaría de
Relaciones Exteriores (SER) hacer pública la información que tengan
respecto al caso.

Por su parte el diputado del PT, Manuel Rafael Huerta Ladrón de
Guevara agregó al punto de acuerdo un inciso para que el titular del
Poder Ejecutivo conforme a la ley provea "en beneficio de dichas
víctimas y sus familias todas las medidas que estén a su alcance para
resarcir daños y afectaciones que hayan sufrido en su persona,
patrimonio o posesiones".

Por su parte la diputada del Partido Acción Nacional (PAN), Adriana
González Carrillo defendió el papel de las autoridades mexicanas en
el caso y expresó que las investigaciones avanzan con transparencia y
de acuerdo a la Ley de Seguridad Nacional del país.

"Nosotros no vamos a permitir que se diga que hay opacidad o que hay
encubrimiento o que hay un silencio cómplice y rechazamos que por
falta de conocimiento se acuse al gobierno de México de omisión",
agregó González Carrillo.
