Mexico City.- The president-elect, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, met and greeted businessman Carlos Slim Helú at a breakfast with engineers at the Palacio de Mining, this Monday morning.
After 8:30 hours, López Obrador toured the site between greetings and congratulations. As they went up to the guest table, the politician from Tabasco and Slim shook hands and the first one gave him two slaps on the back, which provoked applause from the audience.
At breakfast, members of the Mexican Union of Engineering Associations, the Engineering Academy of Mexico and the College of Civil Engineers of Mexico attend.
Rocío Nahle, next head of the Energy Secretariat, is at the guest table; Javier Jiménez Espriú, proposed to be the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation (SCT); as well as Víctor Villalobos, the next Secretary of Agriculture.
Among the hosts are Salvador Landeros Ayala, president of the Mexican Union of Engineers' Associations; José Francisco Albarrán Núñez, president of the Academy of Engineering and Ascent Medina Nieves, president of the College of Civil Engineers of Mexico.
There is also Carlos Agustín Escalante Sandoval, director of the Faculty of Engineering of the UNAM.
