Hesles brothers sentenced to federal prison for ammunition smuggling

DEL RIO, TX - In Del Rio this afternoon, United States District Judge Alia Moses sentenced 34-year-old Richard Hesles, Jr., and his brother, 24-year-old Damien Hesles to 120 months and 110 months in federal prison, respectively, in connection with a scheme to smuggle over 6,000 rounds of ammunition and hundreds of firearm magazines into the Republic of Mexico stated United States Attorney Robert Pitman, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI)

Special Agent In Charge Janice Ayala and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Special Agent In Charge Robert Elder, Houston Division.

An alleged human trafficker was shot by " bajadores " (rep crew) in an area of the Mariposa POE last night when trying to cross illegally several people into the neighboring country .

The wounded said Benjamin Cervantes called Jesus Vizcarra , 33 , who was with a bullet entry hole in the pelvis and from the left buttock , being transferred by ambulance to General Hospital for their care .

The incident took place around 19:20 pm, was at that time that the radio operator C-4 gave notice to the Municipal Public Security elements of a person injured by a bullet in a place known as 'Los Corrales ' located near the Mariposa POE, which mobilized the Red Cross paramedics and the State Police Investigation .
Upon arrival officers met with the injured, who told them he was going down the hill towards the United States, leading a group of undocumented persons , when he came forward about " bajadores " . (rip crew)
He narrated that the these robbed and shot him , it was then that the people who had helped him and led him away to 'Los Corrales ' where they asked for help on 066 . (911)

A person injured by a bullet in the head, arms and luxury vehicles seized , was the outcome of an armed attack on a bar in the Kennedy neighborhood in events early yesterday .

The injured was identified by authorities as Edgar Omar Amaya Ruiz , 26 , a resident of the colony New Nogales , who is hospitalized in the city of Hermosillo.

The police reports state that was at 01:00 pm that authorities of the three levels of government were alerted to an armed attack on a bar located on the corner of Alvaro Obregon Avenue and Kennedy calle .
Flocked to the site of the Federal Preventive Police and State and municipal officers , and located in the parking lot to a person lying on the pavement that had a firearm injury to the head.
In the place a woman said the injured , who was on the side of a red Ford Mustang with license plates of Sonora , was her husband.
The wounded man was treated by Red Cross workers , who took him to the General Hospital where he was stabilized , to be later transferred to a hospital in the city of Hermosillo due to the severity of injuries .
In the scene the Public Prosecutor , who along with police forces found two shell casings and a 9-mm cartridge .
Also were seized three vehicles that were left in place to be a BMW 2006 model black in color plates in Arizona , which had been reported stolen in the city of Phoenix , Arizona.
Inside of this luxury car were located two rifles AK- 47 rifle and an AR -15 , a tactical vest black color and 6 magazines.
Was also a GMC Sierra Denali, black color, with Sonora plates reported as stolen in Tucson , Arizona and a Toyota Corolla gray plates Sonora reported as stolen in Mesa , Arizona.
The vehicles were towed to Fatima Base PEI , leaving the matter in hand secured by the First Agent of the Public Prosecutor of the Common Jurisdiction

1 killed in Reynosa army helicopter crash; firefights continue along Tamps. border

A Mexican military helicopter crashed in Reynosa while attempting to take off Friday, killing one soldier and injuring two others who were inside, officials said.
The crash happened Friday afternoon at the 8th military zone army base in Reynosa, the national defense secretariat said in a statement. Mexican soldiers in the helicopter were rushed to a Reynosa hospital, where their condition was unknown.
Defense officials did not name the person killed in the crash. One ranking officer and soldier suffered injuries.
Elsewhere, soldiers on Friday battled with suspected drug cartel gunmen during firefights in Reynosa and Camargo, according to a news release from the Tamaulipas state government.
The first firefight took place in the Ampliacion Rodriguez neighborhood in Reynosa when a military convoy came under fire by a group of gunmen in a house. After a brief firefight, authorities detained three gunmen and seized four rifles, tactical equipment and a vehicle, Tamaulipas authorities said in the release.
The second firefight took place in the Santa Gertrudis neighborhood in Camargo when once again a military convoy came under fire from a convoy of gunmen. After a firefight, the Mexican military chased off the gunmen seizing six rifles, 1,300 ammunition rounds and an armored truck. Camargo is just south of Rio GrandeCity.
On Tuesday afternoon, four gunmen died following a firefight with Mexican soldiers just outside of Ciudad Mier, a Tamaulipas government news release states. Ciudad Mier is just south of Falcon Dam. After the firefight authorities seized six rifles, 2,400 rounds of ammunition and tactical equipment.
On Wednesday, the Mexican military seized more than 9,400 pounds of marijuana in Camargo's Cuauhtémoc neighborhood following an anonymous tip.

Un presunto traficante de humanos fue herido de bala por "bajadores" en un área del predio Las Mariposas ayer por la noche cuando pretendía cruzar de manera ilegal a varias personas al vecino país.

El herido dijo llamarse Jesús Benjamín Cervantes Vizcarra, de 33 años, quien resultó con un impacto de bala con orificio de entrada en la pelvis y con salida en el glúteo izquierdo, siendo trasladado en una ambulancia al Hospital General para su atención.
Los hechos se registraron alrededor de las 19:20 horas, fue en esos momentos que la radio operadora del C-4 dio aviso a los elementos de Seguridad Pública Municipal de una persona herida de bala en lugar conocido como 'Los Corrales', ubicado cerca de la garita Mariposa, lo que movilizó a los paramédicos de la Cruz Roja, así como a la Policía Estatal Investigadora.
Al llegar al lugar los agentes se entrevistaron con el lesionado, quien les manifestó que iba por el monte rumbo a los Estados Unidos, dirigiendo un grupo de personas indocumentadas, cuando le salieron al paso unos "bajadores".
Narró que estos los despojaron de sus pertenencias y a él le dispararon, fue entonces que las personas a las que guiaba lo auxiliaron y lo llevaron hasta 'Los Corrales' de donde solicitaron ayuda al 066.

Una persona herida de bala en la cabeza, vehículos lujo y armas aseguradas, fue el saldo de un ataque armado suscitado en un bar ubicado en la colonia Kennedy, en hechos ocurridos la madrugada de ayer.

El lesionado fue identificado por las autoridades como Edgar Omar Ruiz Amaya, de 26 años, vecino de la colonia Nuevo Nogales, quien se encuentra hospitalizado en la ciudad de Hermosillo.
Los reportes policiacos señalan que fue a las 01:00 horas que autoridades de los tres niveles de gobierno fueron alertadas sobre un ataque armado un bar situado en la esquina de Avenida Álvaro Obregón y calle Kennedy.
Al sitio acudieron elementos de la Policía Federal y Estatal Preventiva así como agentes municipales, y localizaron en el estacionamiento a una persona tendida sobre el pavimento que presentaba una lesión de arma de fuego en la cabeza.
En el lugar una mujer dijo que el herido, quien estaba a un lado de un vehículo Ford Mustang de color rojo con placas de circulación del estado de Sonora, era su esposo.
El herido fue atendido por socorristas de la Cruz Roja, quienes lo trasladaron al Hospital General, donde fue estabilizado, para ser trasladado después a un hospital de la ciudad de Hermosillo debido a la gravedad de las lesiones.
En el lugar de los hechos se presentó el Agente del Ministerio Público, quien junto a corporaciones policiacas aseguraron dos casquillos percutidos y un cartucho útil calibre 9 milímetros.
También fueron asegurados tres vehículos que quedaron abandonados en el lugar siendo un BMW de color negro modelo 2006 con placas del estado de Arizona, el cual contaba con reporte de robo en la ciudad de Phoenix, Arizona.
En el interior de dicho auto de lujo fueron localizadas dos armas largas tipo fusil AK-47 y una AR-15; un chaleco táctico color negro y 6 cargadores abastecidos.
También fue asegurado un auto GMC Sierra Denali, color negro, con placas del estado de Sonora con reporte de robo en Tucson, Arizona y un Toyota Corola de color gris, placas del estado de Sonora con reporte de robo en Meza, Arizona.
Los vehículos fueron remolcados a la Base Fátima de la PEI, quedando la materia asegurada a disposición del Agente Primero del Ministerio Público del Fuero Común.
