NOTE: Hunting season is in full swing in southern Arizona.  Hunting season presents an additional challenge to Border Patrol   agents whereby they must separate the "good guys" from the "bad guys" in these remote areas, with both usually wearing camouflage clothing.
That being said, hunters are also a valuable resource as "eyes & ears" .... many times going out of their way to report groups of drug smugglers and illegal aliens to the Border Patrol which would otherwise go undetected.

Listen for hunters as the "RP" (reporting party) in this and future audio clips.  Are hunters therefore "vigilantes" ??.... nope.... just "Concerned Citizens" who believe in the rule of law.

-- 0100 - BP agent reports suspected drug smuggling UltraLight aircraft near Birch Rd & SR191 in Sunsites, AZ
-- 0600 - Omaha helicopter pilot reports spotting a large group composed women and kids and comments that he has never
seen before and queries ground agents as to the frequency of this type of group.
-- 1000 -  Unknown reporting party spots individual with a longarm ( hunter or smuggler ??)
-- BP aircraft working group "Sierra" (group #19) by the end of shift.

Note: The fall/winter smuggling "blitz" is ramping up. Intense air support activity in this 17 minute clip demonstrates the
dependency of interdiction efforts after sun goes down on low flying rotary wing and high flying fixed wing aircraft....
... both manned and un-manned.  Even with all this high tech equipment & aircraft, smugglers are many times able to elude     apprehension as apprehension still has to be accomplished in a low-tech way..... "boots on the ground".

-- 0300 - Omaha 10 un-manned aircraft spots a group of 10 IAs on the TO Reservation near the village of Schuchk.
Group "grenaded" in all directions and ground agents were unable to effect any apprehensions.

of San Miguel on the TO reservation out in the desert.

-- 0700 - Agent tracking group 5 miles north of the border in the Baboquivari Mountains  NW of the POE @ Sasabe reports
taking cover after hearing gunfire. Agents solicits information from nearby hunters who reported a group of
6  drug "packers"in the same area the previous day.

-- 1100 -  Vehicle stop by BP agents nets 2 US Citizens and 2 Illegal Aliens hiding in the trunk - location unknown.

-- 1900 - BP aircraft assisting in a "Failure to Yield" during a traffic stop near Ryan Field, SR86

-- 2100 -Omaha Un-manned aircraft spots a group of 7 IAs, NW of the village of Cowlic on the TO reservation.  The coyote"guide"
is seen abandoning the group (that's why the call him "pollo"). Responding agents encounter a "Non-Compliant"
Illegal Alien who subsequently requires medical attention.
