Drug regulation will not reduce violence and insecurity: Encinas
During the Vll Latin American Conference and ll Mexican Conference on Drug Policy,
Encinas said that a possible regulation will not diminish the violence, but it will help to solve a security policy on the criminalization of drug use.

The next deputy secretary of Human Rights and Population of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob), Alejandro Encinas,
acknowledged that a possible regulation of drugs will not diminish the violence and insecurity that is registered in the country.

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO

El próximo subsecretario de Derechos Humanos y Población de la Secretaría de Gobernación (Segob), Alejandro Encinas, reconoció que una posible regulación de las drogas no disminuirá la violencia e inseguridad que se registra en el país.

Durante la Vll Conferencia Latinoamericana y ll Conferencia Mexicana sobre Política de Drogas, Encinas dijo que la política de combate a las drogas "ha incrementado cada vez más los niveles de consumo de drogas".

Se ha diversificado el tipo de drogas que se consumen, ha disminuido la edad promedio de consumo de la primera droga y al mismo tiempo ha habido empeoramiento de grupos delictivos", apuntó.
