Reunited with thousands of soldiers and their families in Military Camp 1, the Tabasco politician once again offered to end corruption and impunity in the country.
"Nothing has harmed Mexico more than the corruption of its authorities," he told the secretaries Salvador Cienfuegos, of the Defense, and Vidal Soberón, of the Navy, who welcomed him.
López Obrador asked to specify the National Guard to attack insecurity in a united way, since currently each authority works separately, so they must be united.
"We are proposing changes in the Constitution so that the National Guard is formed so that there are no more simulations."
"I propose it," he said, "because I have confidence in the Army and the Navy, because the Army is the uniformed people," he said.
WITHOUT A COUP
The President-elect recalled that since this Army was formed, it has never taken a coup d'état.
"They has always been respectful of civil authority, our Army is different from other countries in the world, our Army is disciplined, respecting civil authority," he said.
López Obrador said he went to give this message to ask for his support to the Armed Forces, since he does not come to impose anything. "I am sure that I am going to count on your support because your relatives and yourselves know that we have the problem of insecurity and violence," he said.
After enunciating the scholarship and pensions programs and the large infrastructure projects that he will implement in his Government, López Obrador insisted that these actions will achieve peace and tranquility in the country.
He also said he was happy and happy to be with the military.
"We are going to walk together so there is peace, if Congress approves the National Guard we ask that they support us in public security," he insisted.
The Tabasco concluded his message by shouting "Long live Mexico!" three times and "Long Live the Armed Forces!", which was followed by applause from the military and command assembled.
Secretary of the Navy calls the president-elect to use the Armed Forces
MEXICO CITY.- Before the President-elect, the Secretary of the Navy, Admiral Vidal Francisco Soberón, affirmed that the Armed Forces are a great tool for the Country, so he called on the future President of the Executive to use them.
"We are a great tool, use us, we will never disappoint you," said the head of the Mexican Navy in an unprecedented meeting between Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the Armed Forces in the Military Camp Number 1 of the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena).
There Admiral Soberón endorsed that the Armed Forces have always been on the side of the President who has been elected by the Mexicans. "President-elect, the Armed Forces, the Army, the Navy and the Air Force are with you, we have always been on the side of the president who has been elected by the Mexicans."
He reiterated that the military institutions are and will be an excellent tool for the new Government to achieve its objectives.
"We have the same objective: Mexico, that is what unites us and will always unite us," he said at the end of the meeting of the President-elect with more than 32,000 military elements.
