They arrest migrants near a school

Nuevo Dia / Nogales, Arizona

The Francisco Vásquez de Coronado School was temporarily closed (lock down) by the authorities
of the Nogales, Arizona Police Department in support of the Border Patrol.

Oscar Mesta, a spokesman for the Police Department, said that a report by the Border Patrol agents informed them
about several people in the area, so, for security reasons,
patrol officers from the Police Department showed up at the school where no one was allowed in or out.

A total of seven undocumented persons were found and secured by Border Patrol agents,
and transferred to the Nogales Station and will be processed for deportation.

At no time, the young students were in danger,
but we took these measures to support the Border Patrol agents and maintain the safety of the school,
said spokesman Oscar Mesta;
the departure time of the students was normal.

They seize drugs in General Secondary school 2

A drug dealer managed to escape from teaching staff of the General Secondary School number 2 of this city,
after being surprised and detained when he sold narcotics to the undergraduate students inside the educational establishment.

According to official reports, two professors of that institution were alerted about the presence of a subject who was selling cigars in the "canchitas" area,
so they went to the place where they surprised the alleged drug trafficker.

The reports indicate that both teachers succeeded in holding the offender who threatened them with words
and then struggled with them and managed to flee leaving a cigar box abandoned.

For this reason the teachers gave notice to the authorities who arrived at the campus, elements of Public Safety
who secured the cigar box, locating in its interior a total of 15 marijuana cigarettes
and three paper wrappers containing a white powder with the characteristics of cocaine.

The preventive elements made search routes of the alleged "shooter", by the surrounding streets of the sector, without finding his location.

Therefore, the drug was placed at the disposal of a Public Ministry of the Common Jurisdiction,
who was in charge of carrying out the corresponding investigations.
