Train policemen in use of weapons in Cajeme Sonora

Esteban Bautista Riveros has devoted part of his life to the training.

It was nine years ago, when from Mexico City, from the Colegio Heroico Militar (Military Heroic College), he arrived in Cajeme,
he recalled, and since then he has been in charge of training in the use of weapons and shooting at the Cajeme Police Academy.

For this year, each and every one of the members of the Municipal Public Security Secretariat have passed through its classrooms and through the simulator, he explained, with what is intended to be a step ahead of crime.

"I am of military training, I arrived with that knowledge and I was commissioned to this area.
Life brought me to Ciudad Obregón and here I made my family and I stayed, but I'm from Oaxaca, "he said.

The weapon is a basic tool for the police, and they must master it perfectly, he stressed, that is why the importance of his work within the force.
"There is a plan, the police are always in training, there are comrades who advance, they seek to improve, we develop skills," he said.

Although at the age of 15 he did not imagine becoming an expert and a teacher in arms, little by little he was putting his knowledge to that goal, he said, and for that he trained also in the United States.

Courses and congresses have always been present, because before technology is more than necessary, he said.
His desire to join the ranks of the Military College came through a family member who also followed that career, he explained, and now it has become his passion.

The simulator
Cajeme is one of the municipalities that has found and corroborated the benefits of a shooting simulator, he said, with which not only large quantities of ammunition are saved, but also where precision is learned.

Although in many areas of Mexico these are available, in a few parts they value it, since they attribute certain inaccuracy to it, he explained.
At least in Cajeme, this has been a primordial part of the preparation of the agents, he added, and for years no one has been wounded by a bullet, although there have been splinters, a situation that can not be controlled.

"The only thing we do here is not to use real shots but we use real weapons and movements as part of a technique, we only save ammunition, we develop enough skills and we go to the shooting range to do it with live fire and that is where we check the development of the skills, "he described.

The technique or training manual that is used today in much of Mexico, was created with the support of this professional in 2009, he said, after differentiating the needs of a police and sports shooting, by what they were trained before.

Both the manual of urban and rural technique, has been replicated throughout Mexico, and after being created by him and his colleagues, is an achievement that must be dignified. "There are many differences between criminals and professionals, that is why the technique, the training. Many can say God is great, but others help me that I will help you, "he said.

Capacita a policías en uso de armas en Cajeme

Para que los 800 policías con los que cuenta Cajeme tengan las destrezas necesarias en uso de armas de fuego, Esteban Bautista Riveros ha dedicado parte de su vida a la capacitación.

Fue hace nueve años, cuando desde la Ciudad de México, del Colegio Heroico Militar, arribó a Cajeme, recordó, y desde entonces se ha encargado de dar la capacitación en uso de armas y tiro en la Academia de Policía de Cajeme.

Para este año, todos y cada uno de los elementos de la Secretaría de Seguridad Pública Municipal han pasado por sus aulas y por el simulador con el que trabaja, explicó, con lo que se pretende estar un paso adelante de la delincuencia.
"Soy de formación militar, llegue con esos conocimientos y me comisionaron a esta área. La vida me trajo a Ciudad Obregón y aquí hice mi familia y me quedé, pero soy de Oaxaca", comentó.
El arma es una herramienta básica para el policía, y debe dominarla a la perfección, destacó, por ello la importancia de su labor dentro de la corporación.
"Hay un plan, los policías siempre están en adiestramiento, hay compañeros que se adelantan, ellos buscan perfeccionar, les desarrollamos habilidades", mencionó.
Aunque a los 15 años no imaginó llegar a ser un experto y maestro en armas, poco a poco fue encarrilando sus conocimientos a ese objetivo, indicó, y para ello se capacitó hasta en Estados Unidos.

Los cursos y congresos siempre han estado presentes, pues ante la tecnología es más que necesario, platicó.
Su deseo por sumarse a las filas del Colegio Militar llegó a través de un familiar que también siguió esa carrera, detalló, y hasta el momento se ha vuelto su pasión.
El simulador
Cajeme es uno de los municipios que ha encontrado y corroborado las bondades de un simulador de tiro, destacó, con el que no sólo se ahorran grandes cantidades de municiones sino donde también se aprende con precisión.

Aunque en muchas zonas de México se cuenta con estos, en pocas partes lo valoran, pues le atribuyen cierta inexactitud, detalló.
Al menos en Cajeme, éste ha sido parte primordial de la preparación de los agentes, añadió, y desde hace años no se ha presentado ni un solo herido por bala, aunque sí por esquirlas, situación que no se puede controlar.

"Lo único que hacemos aquí es no usar disparos reales pero empleamos armas reales y movimientos como parte de una técnica, sólo nos ahorramos municiones, desarrollamos las habilidades suficientes y ya vamos al campo de tiro para hacerlas con fuego real y es donde comprobamos el desarrollo de la habilidad", describió.

La técnica o manual de capacitación que hoy en día se utiliza en gran parte de México, fue creado con apoyo de este profesional en el 2009, destacó, tras diferenciar las necesidades de un policía y del tiro deportivo, con lo que antes se capacitaban.

Tanto el manual de técnica urbana como rural, ha sido replicado por todo México, y tras ser creado por él y sus compañeros, es un logro que hay que dignificar.
"Existen muchas diferencias entre los delincuentes y los profesionales, es por ello la técnica, la capacitación. Muchos pueden decir Dios es grande, pero otros ayúdame que te ayudaré", expresó.
