5 kidnapped people are released in Benjamin Hill

Five people kidnapped, including three of Honduran nationality, were released by elements of the Federal Police (PF) in an operation carried out in Sonora.

A report from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection indicated that three individuals who were guarding the people were arrested after a chase.

Staff of the Regional Security Division of the PF conducted patrols on the International highway, Hermosillo-Nogales section,
when it received a complaint from a Mexican citizen.

The co-national informed them that they escaped from some criminals, who kept them in captivity in Benjamin Hill, where other victims were found.

The Federal Police deployed an operation in the vicinity of the San Fernando neighborhood, in that municipality,
where they located a building that functioned as a safe house.

Outside there were armed persons whose characteristics coincided with those described by the complainant;
When they noticed the presence of the policemen, they tried to flee.

When inspecting the property, the troops found five men, three Hondurans and two Mexicans,
who said they had been deprived of their liberty for several days.

They indicated that the detainees demanded to their relatives diverse amounts of money in exchange for releasing them,
and of not doing it, they would be deprived of the life. ( i.e. killed )
